After making some celebrated appearances as the pair in Kroll Show sketches, Kroll and Mulaney turned Oh, Hello into an off-Broadway show that ran at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village for several sold-out weeks. Geegland are New Yorkers of a certain age, and of certain mannerisms. We would rather kill Broadway than see it with anyone else, George says at one point. Geegland (Mulaney) has written a play for himself and Gil Faizon (Nick Kroll), to star in. The short, clean version, I suppose, is that George St. I don't see any objection to Philadelphia. Monks and Finklehoffe also wrote the MGM musical, Strike Up the Band (1940). Take George, the more monstrous of the two, who professes himself both a magnetic lothario and a titan of liberalismwhile making offhand comments and degrading jokes at the expense of women and people of color.
